Winter Weather Discussion 2009-7-4

Winter Weather Discussion for December 23-24, 2009.
Valid: 12/22/2009.

18z NAM and 12z ECMWF have reintroduced the potential for a
significant winter weather event across Oklahoma. I have great
concern about yo-yoing the forecast given discussion 2009-7-3. For
now I will make the note that another 180 in the forecast is possible
and may have to reintroduce snow changes from Pauls Valley northward
to Kansas. Taken at face value the 18z NAM shows 5-7 inches of snow
for OKC and 8-12 for Ponca City. It is emphasized that the forecast
is likely to change again as mesoscale factors shift the evolution of
this event.
