…NWS SURVEY RESULTS FOR TORNADO NEAR BROKEN ARROW…

A NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TEAM INVESTIGATED THE AREA NORTHEAST OF

BROKEN ARROW THIS MORNING. BASED ON DAMAGE ASSESSMENTS AND RADAR

DATA…IT WAS DETERMINED AN EF1 TORNADO OCCURRED AT 1136 PM. A

MOBILE HOME AND BARN WERE DESTROYED NEAR 43RD STREET SOUTH AND

21OTH STREET EAST. ALONG 209TH STREET EAST FROM 43RD STREET SOUTH

TO 48TH STREET SOUTH…SIX POWER POLES WERE SNAPPED. WIND SPEEDS

WERE ESTIMATED TO BE 100 MILES AN HOUR. THE TORNADO WAS ON THE

GROUND FOR APPROXIMATELY ONE HALF MILE…AND WAS 50 YARDS WIDE.
