Weekly Severe Weather Discussion

Severe Weather Discussion for October 20 – 26, 2008.
Valid: 10/19/2008.

– Pleasant Monday and Tuesday across much of the region with rain
possible late Tuesday through Wednesday in Oklahoma. Temperatures
Wednesday and Thursday in the mid 50s to low 60s across the state.
Friday – Sunday will see temperatures in the mid/upper 60s. Texas
will generally be in the upper 70s/80s through Wednesday, with a cool
down to the upper 60s/70s Thursday – Sunday.

12z NAM/ECMWF are similar in depicting a large closed low developing
just northeast of Oklahoma by Wednesday. The GFS is a little west of
this location, but the impact differences are limited. A weak cold
front will move into northwest Oklahoma on Monday and stall. This
system will push a stronger front through the state on Wednesday and
region by Thursday.

We'll get a quick chance of rain Tuesday night into Wednesday, then
drying out the rest of the week. Other than the cool/raw day on
Wednesday, this should be a pleasant mid-fall week for the region.
