Be Weather Aware on Thursday

With the potential for a significant severe weather event on Thursday, all Oklahomans are urged to be weather aware, especially after 4pm through the evening hours.

The National Weather Service has some great websites to stay current on weather conditions.

For a general U.S. view, with watch/warning information, go to http://www.weather.gov.

If you live in central and western Oklahoma, the NWS page from the Norman Office is a good spot: http://www.srh.noaa.gov/oun/enhanced.php. They use Green, Yellow, and Red background coding depending on what’s occurring. Red is significant severe weather.

Eastern Oklahoma is the Tulsa Office: http://www.srh.noaa.gov/tsa/cgi-bin/decisionmaker.php.
