Winter Weather Threat Continues…

Timing: Now – Sunday Morning

Winter Storm Warning for the western half of Oklahoma, not including Oklahoma City.

This warning is in effect until noon Sunday for an area north of a line from Sayre to Okarche, including Kay and Noble Counties. Total ice accumulations may reach one-quarter inches through late Saturday. A changeover to snow is expected late Saturday and continuing into Sunday with 4-6 inches likely. Travel is strongly discouraged in this area beyond noon Saturday.

This warning is in effect until 10:00am Saturday for the area south of the above line, mainly far southwest Oklahoma. Total ice accumulations may each one-quarter inches through Saturday morning. Temperatures should rise above freezing during the afternoon, ending the winter weather threat.

Winter Weather Advisory is posted for areas south of a line from Guthrie to Stillwater until 10:00 Saturday, this does include Oklahoma City. Freezing drizzle is expected to continue through Saturday morning. While no ice accumulations are expected, travel problems may occur as bridges and exposed objects ice.
