…HEAVY RAINS ACROSS NORTH TEXAS ON SEPTEMBER 10 2007…

TORRENTIAL RAINFALL RESULTED IN FLASH FLOODING ACROSS PORTIONS OF
THE METROPLEX ON THE MORNING OF SEPTEMBER 10 2007. A DAILY RAINFALL
RECORD OF 1.86 INCHES DATING BACK TO 1992 WAS BROKEN AT DALLAS/FORT
WORTH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. HOWEVER…RAINFALL TOTALS VARIED
WIDELY ACROSS THE REGION.

DALLAS LOVE FIELD ALSO RECEIVED A RECORD RAINFALL OF 4.68 INCHES.
THIS RANKS AS THE HIGHEST DAILY RAINFALL TOTAL IN THE MONTH OF
SEPTEMBER SINCE 1897. THE PREVIOUS SEPTEMBER DAILY RAINFALL RECORD
WAS 4.32 INCHES ON SEPTEMBER 21 1965. FURTHERMORE…4.68 INCHES
RANKS AS THE 8TH HIGHEST DAILY RAINFALL TOTAL EVER RECORDED AT LOVE
FIELD. THE HIGHEST DAILY RAINFALL RECORD IS 6.90 INCHES ON MARCH 19
2006.

AIRPORT IS 34.73 INCHES. AS OF 8 PM SEPTEMBER 10 2007…DFW HAS
ALREADY RECEIVED 42.96 INCHES OF RAINFALL THIS YEAR…WHICH IS 8.23
INCHES ABOVE THE NORMAL ANNUAL TOTAL. THE WETTEST YEAR ON RECORD AT
DFW WAS 1991 WITH 53.54 INCHES RECORDED.

FOR WACO REGIONAL AIRPORT….THE NORMAL ANNUAL PRECIPITATION IS
33.34 INCHES. AS OF 8 PM SEPTEMBER 10 2007…WACO HAS ALREADY
RECEIVED 44.47 INCHES OF RAINFALL THIS YEAR…WHICH IS 11.13 INCHES
ABOVE THE NORMAL ANNUAL TOTAL. THE WETTEST YEAR ON RECORD AT WACO
WAS 1905 WITH A TOTAL OF 60.20 INCHES.

THUS FAR…2007 DOES NOT RANK IN THE TOP 10 WETTEST YEARS AT DFW OR
WACO.
