Weekly Severe Weather Discussion

Severe Weather Discussion for April 23 – 29, 2007.
Valid: 04/23/2007.

– Active severe weather days for today and Tuesday.

– Temperatures near or above normal all week.

– Severe Thunderstorms in Oklahoma: > 75%
– Storm Chase: 60%
– Winter Precip: < 5%

I'm going to keep this short since another discussion needs to be written. Upper system will pass through the region late Tuesday into Wednesday. Widespread severe thunderstorms with potential for tornadoes should occur on Tuesday. The severe weather probability is set to the high-end of the scale.

A Pacific cold front will follow the system on Wednesday and result in cool temperatures for the region. Warm air should return on Thursday with mild conditions and above normal (73F in OKC) temperatures through the weekend.

GFS is hinting at a return to an active pattern around the first week of May.
